Alexander's Birthday: Part 1

Every year I, Karen, spend hours thinking and planning how I will make each of my children's birthdays perfect but things do not always go the way I plan.  This year we were super excited to take Alexander to Pullen Park (an awesome park in Raleigh, NC) to ride the train and carousel but when we woke up on Saturday morning (promptly at 4am with excited children) it was raining.  As a Plan B we packed the kids up and took them to the mall where there is an indoor train and play area.  It wasn't what I had originally planned, but we still had a great day filled with adventures and most importantly family.

Plan B: Take the kids to the mall to ride the indoor train.  15 minute car ride and both boys passed out asleep - yes, that is what happens when you wake up at 4am!
My family typically does not follow rules - here's a picture of  Alexander "driving" the train at the mall thanks to my Aunt Ginny!

Three generations of Hall women!
My dad celebrating 60 years on the train at the mall - he's such a wonderful granddaddy!
Present time for everyone!
I love this girl!
Aunt Ginny bought the kids airplanes.  Here's Alexander and Ginny testing the plane from the second story of the mall, hilarious!
