Observing Advent as a Family

Painting toilet paper rolls for our advent calendar

Their completed project

I stole the idea from online

Alexander demonstrating our advent calendar fun!

This year Robert and I are teaching the boys about the season of advent, especially the idea of learning to wait and have hope in Christ. We have had a great time, we focus on advent readings in the morning as a family and at night the boys get to help by counting down on our advent calendar. Everyday they receive a special treat (i.e. a piece of candy) and a fun activity (i.e. bubble baths, games with dad, making cookies with mom...) as we once again try to help build excitement in our home about Jesus coming to earth (and preparation for the joy of Jesus coming again). We are having a great time and excited about the boys getting the opportunity to really focus on Jesus during this season.
