New friends

The primary purpose of my classes in California has been to connect with my cohort (29 other classmates) from around the world, growing as a community that will learn from one another over the next two years. Most of our interactions will be at a distance, through online communication. That's why this face-to-face time, sharing our stories and personalities, is so essential for building trust. We'll gather again as a whole group near the end of the program, in November 2010.

In this photo, I'm enjoying a Saturday BBQ lunch with some new friends from my cohort - guys from Uganda, Tennessee, Kansas, New Mexico, and Albania. I'm so grateful for my family's support in sending me out here to learn from and with some amazing people!
