Worlds-apart weather

I arrived in Los Angeles Saturday for two weeks of classes at Fuller Seminary in nearby Pasadena. Coming from Blacksburg, where the long winter weather lingers into April and we still have several gloomy days in the 50s, I was ready for some perfect low-70s So-Cal sunshine. Well, yesterday's high of 94 degrees broke a 95-year old record, and the high today is 99! Maybe the weather at home wasn't so bad after all ;-)
